Quien te diga que lo comercial es definitivamente un mal producto musical, está absolutamente equivocado; se puede dar el caso que sea una canción mala como cualquier canción pensada para componer con alto vuelo y resulta ser un espanto, y puede darse como este caso, que si bien Las Pelotas muestran una producción mas rellena, más profesional y cuidada, y ya la catalogan de "comercial" tan solo porque aparece entre las mas escuchadas de una lista de reproducciòn de redes. Muchos ni siquiera saben definir comercial y no comercial. Asi que lo que importa es lo que cada canción te haga sentir al oirla sin agregarle ningún mote.

Thank you so much for the reaction to one of my favorite band. I have seen Kalandra two times live, and in addion to be a great live band, they are so close to earth. When I and my friend ask them to sign the record, they was so glad to meet us, and thanks us so to came to watch them. And also thanks to the tip for the Prog Mind. I watched the Taxi Driver theme life in DR's( the Danish equivalent to BBC) Concert Hall with the National Danish Symphony Orchestra a couple of years ago. It was during a Murder at the Symphony theme night with music from Hitchcock's Vertigo, Psycho, the Godfather etc conducted by Sara Hicks. It was an amazing night. Hans Ulrik, the talented jazz saxophonist, also plays the harmonica in The Good, The Bad.... and in Once upon a time in the west. ❤❤

Go see them , they still sound as good as the 70's . McDonald only sings 3 or 4 songs so you can stomach the 20 minutes of him singing . Saw them last year . Tom Johnston still sounds exactly the same .

I know you posted this a long time ago, but I've just discovered you and appreciate you looking into Sandy Denny. She is one of the few singers who can bring a lump to my throat, and often. I agree with what you say about Joni - very different, so impossible to make comparisons, but I've collected almost all the albums made by both of them! However, I really want to underline the fact that Sandy was somewhat shy compared to Joni, and overlooked. Only long after she died was it discovered that her solo demos were not only many, but actually often showcase her in the best possible light - they're staggering, to cut the story short. Take for example, her most well known song, Who Knows Where The Time Goes? She performed or recorded several versions, two of which I prefer to the one with Fairport! One of these is on RUclips, Sandy Denny Who Knows Where The Time Goes Live - John Peel. This was recorded probably between 10 pm and 12 midnight on BBC radio, and offers a slow and very wistful version that is absolutely note perfect and takes my breath away to the last little guitar note she plays! That's just for starters.

Este en mi opinión es el mejor Charly de todos, porque en los 90 y 2000 empezó con los excesos, su hermosa voz de los 80s se deterioraba poco a poco, y siempre se metía en un mar de polémicas, en sus conciertos reiteradas veces se golpeaba y armaba lío con los sonidistas, tiraba los instrumentos y parlantes al piso de tanto enojo, una vez comenzó a tirar cosas de mucho peso desde el balcón de un hotel donde se estaba quedando unos días, y uno de estos objetos golpeó a una chica periodista que estaba haciendo una nota, y Charly al bajar y salir a la calle, tenía a un periodista esperándolo que ni bien lo vió, le pegó un puñetazo en la cara en vez de responderle, después de haber hecho lo que hizo. Una vez se bajo los pantalones frente al público y al terminar el recital estuvo preso unos días (aunque estuvo muchas veces en la cárcel por días) también armaba puros líos con los periodistas y siempre los golpeaba e insultaba (hay muchos videos de esas polémicas) era como un rey de los escándalos mediáticos en nuestro país en esas épocas, aunque también hacía reír a la gente con sus comentarios que decía en sus conciertos, o sus breves y cómicas respuestas en sus entrevistas. Una vez se tiró de un piso 9 a una pileta (piscina) en un hotel en Mendoza, Argentina. Y quedó como uno de los hechos más recordados e iconicos del país. Pero la mayoría de los argentinos siempe lo quisimos de igual manera. Y gracias a Palito Ortega (reconocido cantante en Argentina) lo "salvó", haciendo que se tranquilice y deje sus adicciones, cuidandolo en su casa (esa es mi versión o al menos lo que entendí de como salió de ese mundo y pudo recuperarse). Pero toda esa época de locura, excesos y polémicas, no desmeritan la genialidad y lo buen músico que siempre fue, aunque hoy en día está ya viejo, es super tranquilo y es como un abuelo relajado, pero con mucha agilidad y sabiduría con el piano todavía. Les dejo algunas de sus canciones de su exitosa carrera solista Del disco "Piano Bar" (Promesas Sobre El Bidet pertenece a este disco) les recomiendo Demoliendo Hoteles, Raros Peinados Nuevos y Piano Bar. De su disco "Clics Modernos" que en mi opinión es el mejor de todos, les recomiendo No Soy Un Extraño, No Me Dejan Salir y Ojos de Video Tape. Del discazo "Cómo Conseguir Chicas" de 1989, escuchen Shisyastawuman, No Toquen y Fantasy (no les digo Fanky porque ya la escucharon), y por último, del disco "Tango" con Pedro Aznar, escuchen Hablando A Tu Corazón, uno de mis temas favoritos de Charly. Y de sus recitales les diría que vean Fanky en vivo y Seminare en vivo (ese concierto fue épico) y de sus entrevistas, si gustan reaccionarlas, vean cualquiera que sea de los 80 o 90, ya que son muy graciosas y Charly demuestra siempre su genialidad al responder las preguntas de forma muy cómica, saludos!!!!🇦🇷🇦🇷

I was born almost exactly after Bill Nelson, about 25km away. Despite that, didn’t know too much about Be Bop Deluxe, other than their 1976 single “Ships InThe Night” (which was great by the way). More into Yes back then.

Not certain if it's been said elsewhere but I think the effect on Crying to the Sky is a Uni-Vibe. Sister Seagull and Axe Victim are another couple of good tunes by Be Bop Deluxe

I think Bill was very influenced by Jimi Hendrix as well. But then he can also play really clean, Jazz-inflected soloing. Guy had skills.

Be Bop Deluxe and Rush played together on some shows back in the day. I think Alex may have picked up some tricks from Bill. Or, they are at least soulmates on guitar, especially in the arpeggios work.

The singer ( Fish ) is truly one of a kind. This album is a masterpiece and should be listened as one long song. It's actually the story of if his childhood.

Great, great song, but of course, consider the source!! Felix did a stunning job on vocals, every bit as emotive, impassioned, fluid and fiery as Jack. I hadn't previously known that he actually sang this one. He also co-wrote 'World of Pain' for Cream with his wife, who ended up killing him. 😢 Drummer Corky Laing also produced several, iirc, albums for Montreal's Mahogany Rush, sometimes known as Frank Marino and M--R--, after their prime-mover, Hendrix disciple Marino. Always a treat to hear this one, whatever the excuse. 😉🤙🏼🎶❤️🍁❤️✨️🕊

Great reaction to my marathon Nick, it's always good to see someone listen to the first solo in Crying To The Sky for the first time as it always blows minds. For his rock guitar and prog stuff the first Two Be-Bop albums Axe Victim and Futurama are the ones to go to, some brilliant guitar playing on those. Futurama was produced by Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker and although Bill didn't like the result I think it's the greatest album I've ever heard. Bill co produced after that with John Leckie. Bill's early guitar influences are were Duane Eddy and Hank Marvin which is why he's such a melodic phraser, he learned alone in his bedroom playing along to the records he loved, doesn't read music, doesn't know scales but knows where all the notes are and uses them. His father, a jazz trumpet player, bought him his first good guitar, a Gibson ES345, the stereo model, and it's this guitar he used mostly in the studio. For your information the solo on Crying To The Sky was played on the ES345 but played clean with his Carlsbro amp turned up to the max so it was barely controllable. I tried to give you a flavour of all five of the Be-Bop albums and with a restricted time of just 25 minutes I had to choose the shorter songs, there are longer songs and there is a live album, Live In The Air Age, check out the song Shine as it's not on any of the official studio releases. All five albums have been released as box sets, the live album has the whole of the UK tour from 1977 released on 16 cd's plus the Star Rider in concert gig that was shown on tv only in the north of england in 1977, some live stuff from the BBC is available on the Be-Bop Deluxe at the BBC box set, all the radio sessions, the Old Grey Whistle Test appearances plus the Sight And Sound in Concert from 1978.

Another talented Yorkshire man including Allan Hanson and John McLaughlin. They were a good band to see but did not get the recognition they deserved. Similarities to Prince are evident.
